The Mount Meru 3 Days Trek is a short and demanding itinerary. It follows the same route as the 4-day trek but with less acclimatization time. You climb to 4,566 meters at Socialist Peak. The trek takes place inside Arusha National Park with an armed ranger. Expect wildlife encounters, steep sections, and narrow summit ridges.

Day 1 – Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

  • Trekking Time : 4–5 hours
  • Altitude : 1,500 m → 2,514 m
  • Climate : Forest, warm

  • Registration at Momella Gate
  • Trek with armed ranger
  • Possible sightings of giraffes and buffalo
  • Overnight at Miriakamba Hut

Day 2 – Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

  • Trekking Time : 3–4 hours
  • Altitude : 2,514 m → 3,570 m
  • Climate : Moorland, cooler

  • Steeper climb through forest and moorland
  • Views of Meru crater
  • Afternoon acclimatization hike
  • Overnight at Saddle Hut

Day 3 – Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak to Momella Gate

  • Trekking Time : 12–14 hours
  • Altitude : 3,570 m → 4,566 m → 1,500 m
  • Climate : Cold summit, warm descent

  • Early morning summit attempt
  • Narrow ridge to Socialist Peak
